The Prize Draw Platform

Drawing and announcing your winner

This is where the draw has to be, and has to look, completely fair. The platform handles the fairness for you and gives you a record to prove it. Here is the full sequence.

1. The draw closes

When the closing time passes, the draw closes on its own and stops taking entries. You can also close it early from the management page if you need to. Once it is closed, you are ready to draw.

2. Draw the winner

Press draw. The platform selects at random, weighted by the entries each person earned, so someone with ten entries is ten times as likely to win as someone with one. It selects your winner and a set of ranked backups in the same pass, in case the winner cannot be reached or does not check out.

You can only draw once. That is intentional. A draw you can re-run is not a fair draw.

Why this is trustworthy

The selection uses a recorded random seed and a fingerprint of the entry pool. That means the result can be reproduced and checked by anyone, rather than taken on trust. The platform produces a public verification page and a printable certificate for every completed draw.

3. Check the winner before you award

Because bonus actions are self-declared, you verify the one person who matters: the winner. The winner panel on your management page lists exactly which actions they claimed, so you can confirm they did them before the prize is handed over. Your terms reserve the right to do this.

If the winner did not complete what they claimed, or you cannot reach them, disqualify them and the next ranked backup becomes the winner. The same check applies to them. This is why the platform draws backups at the same time as the winner.

4. Announce it

Email the winner yourself, from your own address. The platform gives you a prefilled message you can edit and a one-click way to copy it, but the email comes from you, because a personal note from the brand lands better than an automated one. Give them a clear deadline to claim, usually fourteen days.

Then announce it publicly. You can share:

  • The winner's first name, which is all that is shown publicly.
  • The public verification page, so anyone can confirm the draw was fair.
  • The certificate, a clean one-page record you can save as a PDF or attach to a post.

Announcing the winner well is part of the marketing. It proves the draw was real, builds trust for the next one, and gives you another reason to post to the audience you just grew.

In short

Close, draw, check the winner's claimed actions, email them personally with a claim deadline, then announce the first name with the verification link. Keep the backups in reserve until the prize is safely claimed.
